I sing to them, and about them! Like..you got food, you got water, you got everything ya oughtter..
Another..go pee-pee, go poo-poo, whatever ya gotta do..DO
found myself singin that one in the department store once..got some funny looks...
I sing.

Edit: Yeah..I'm a little off my rocker...
My dogs have very long ears..I sing, "Do Your Ears Hang Low" and they love it! (as I do the motions with their ears)

She had a toy that sang like that, and now we sing it to her all the time.
She is Buffy, an 11 month old Golden Retriever.

I don't have a dog. But I make up songs about my cats and sing them off and on. I've noticed that my cats don't seem too impressed. However, if I sing their names inside the song, they perk up and come over to see me. One example, sung to the tune of the 1812 Overture by Tschaikovsky:
Oh, little Pookie cat, I love you true.
Oh, little baby cat, I really do.
Oh, little Pookie cat, I love your kitty touch.
Oh, little baby cat, I love you oh, so much!
(And so on.)

i make up lots of songs about my dogs but i let other people sing them

I do all the time for my kitties!
You are my sunshine, commercial jingles, whatevers on the radio, i love to sing to them. Its a great way to bond. I plan on singing to my new pup as well lol
