I know they can't purchase it, but do they call the police or anything?

Just don't show them any ID. Go in without your purse, money in your pocket. If they ask for ID then act all happy and say "really?" like you're really happy they thought you were under 19 (that's the legal age where you live). Then say you left home in a hurry without your purse because your husband gave you some money to go buy some beer for his friends that were helping you paint your living room. But don't forget to act all happy and "complimented" that you look so young.

Just kidding....don't be so stupid!!

Of course it depends on where you are. But let me emphasize this. In most places, the person who might sell it to you is in a lot MORE trouble than you are. Think about that, though. Are you willing to screw someone else's life up because YOU want to break the law? I mean, if you get a slap on the wrist and he gets a $2000 fine, a criminal record, loses his license for up to five years and can't work doing what he's doing, wouldn't that make you feel like crap? As a bar manager, I've seen exactly that scenario happen, because a bartender was a little careless with someone who was a few months away from 21.

Governments make underage drinking illegal because kids don't always act in a responsible manner. If you're willing to ruin a person's career for a wine cooler, it just proves they're right.

If an underage person comes in to a store and attempts to buy an alcoholic beverage, the clerk is 'supposed' to check your ID. If your ID is legit and you're underage, the clerk will tell you that they can't sell it to you, and you go about your business. But if you choose to argue with the clerk, or present a fake ID, expect the cops to be called.

If the cops finds you in possession of an alcoholic beverage or under the influence, and you're underage, then you'll have problems. There's a wide range of possible penalties depending on your state, town, or locality. Also the penalty changes with the circumstance. Were you at a party? Were you driving? Your behavior is also factored in.

So, to sum it up, you can face a fine, suspension of your license, and/or community service or some jail time. (18-20)

It all depends on the seller. Some places will just tell you to get out and some will try to have you arested. Either way promise it's not worth the risk a ticket for underage drinking here is like $250

Usually they are just turned away, however if they have the misfortune to get caught in the many "sting" operations that are conducted, they would have a misdemeanor charge brought against them. Technically it is a mis demeanor to attempt to purchase, but rarely enforced because of the obvious. The perpetrator is going to be long gone by the time the law arrived.

it depends on the place u try to buy it from they might just tell nu ur too young , if u get caught with it then you'll probably just get taken to the police station and have ur parents called , might get a fine or somethin, but u won't go to jail or anything like that

Yes, they will call the police, who then call the parents/guardians and let you get off w/ a warning. Or, they may also arrest the person; just depends on the situation.

you get caught, the law is called, they take you to their station, call your parents, or sometimes they send you to juvenile detention center. that is jail for the underage, and they also usually arrest the person who bought it for you, and the place who sold it to you usually gets fined and loses their job
