First off, stay away from anyone who promotes that they have "toy" yorkies. There is no such AKC breed. A yorkie should be up up to 7 pounds period.
Now, depending on where you are, and what exactly you are looking for you could expect to spend between $400 up to thousands.
If you are looking for a dog to breed, you will pay more, if you are looking for a female to breed, you need to stay at least at 4 pounds full grown or you're looking for trouble.
Some breeders will have "limited" registrations which means any puppies from the dog can never be registered, but if you are looking for a pet, this can be good for you because the dog may be less expensive.
My first yorkie was a non-registered male and he was $450 and is about 7 1/2 pounds. My little girl was $1300 and should max out at 4 to 4 1/2 pounds with no restrictions on breeding or registration.
Be sure to research your breeder, if they won't let you in where they keep the dogs, don't even consider buying from them. If they welcome you into their home, kennel, etc. then you have probably found someone that is going to give you a healthy dog.
I hate to go on forever, but remember that the smaller the dog you get, the more likely they will have health problems later down the line. Not saying that they will, but the size does contribute.
Good luck, yorkies make great companions and I encourage you to get one, but do yourself and the dog a favor and be an informed owner.

First of all, there is no such thing a a toy Yorkie. The only dog that actually has 'toy' in front of it's name is the toy Poodle. That said, there is also no such thing as a "TEACUP" anything so do not get sucked in by backyard breeders supposedly selling teacup Yorkies.
I would say a Yorkie from a reputable breeder (show bloodlines, parents screened of genetic diseases, registered with AKC etc.) would cost anywhere FROM $1,500 and up. If you wanted an AKC Yorkie from just ANY BACKYARD BREEDER, you would pay from $400 to $1,000 depending on how fast they want to sell.

It really depends on where you live and what the breeders are charging. I would say most of the ones where I live are around $700-$1,300. But sometimes you can really get a good deal if the puppies are a little older or if the owner is in a pinch to sell puppies.

Yorkies are a "toy" breed, so you don't need to add the word toy to it.
If you buy from a responsible breeder you can pay anywhere from $400 to over $1000. Depnds on bloodlines, area you live in, etc.
