Most canned or bagged tunafish is cooked. Some are even smoked.
they are good to eat just like that, or added to salads, made into main dishes, or made into patties or omelets.
They are versatile, so you can innovate on how to further prepare them appetizingly to serve and eat.

yes the canning or bagging process cooks the fish. the only tuna that is not cooked is in the fresh fish or frozen fish section. I have seen salted Codfish but never salted Tuna .. so if you want raw you'll have to find a store that sells it.. my little neighborhood store doesn't regularly sell raw tuna. Let your fingers do the walking thru the yellowpages :)

Yes, they do cook it before they can it, otherwise, it would be disgustingly slimy and chewy. Trust me, you would know. It would be floppy, very pink, and it would not be so dry tasting.
