It may have been ignorance on the part of the person shot but I side with the offices. If the man had a weapon and was going for it then I am guessing then you would have agreed with the officers. If I had been the officer I would have thought that the man was going for a gun. You don't do anything until the officer tells you to. I carry a pistol some times when I go to the ranch and I have to go trough a INS check point, When I get there I stick both hands out the window and say pistol in vehicle, on the dash board. With both of my hands showing they know that I am not a threat to them

Internal Affairs will do an investigation and the police officers will be held accountable if they did violate his rights. When the police tell you to freeze, it is not a good idea to reach inside your pocket for anything. You are to stand still with your hands where they can be seen. If not, something like this can and does happen. Unfortunate for the citizen, but then we need to take the officers seriously when we are told to do something. This happened at night, and they were unable to see if this person was pulling out a weapon.

This sort of things happens a lot more often than most people would believe. Citizens must learn to immediately OBEY what an officer says. If they reach for something, tell the officers what it is.Cops shoot to kill, not wound. Best to avoid any situation whee they are present.

i'm satisfied that the police officials were discovered harmless. you could't decide someones reaction in a topic that you've been no longer there for. in case you imagine your life is at probability you'll shoot first ask questions later.

the guy should not have reached for his wallet without first letting the cop know that's what he was going to do. the cop has no way of knowing if the guy is armed and reaching for a weapon.

since i wasnt there and unless you have it on video for me to watch i cant say whether the cops were right or not. the cops are trained to protect themselves, its not up to you or me to make a judgement on thier actions. that is up to a court of law and a jury.

A good lesson in why when a cop tells you to freeze you pretend that it's Simon Sez' and follow all instructions to the letter. Duh! Don't move and wait for further instruction.
