You may have to treat it with caution. You have to realize that a lot of time that you spend more time at work than at home. So you don't want to fall into something that will jeopardize your relationship.
Let the person at work know of your relationship and make it clear that you have no interest in going any further than co-worker. Its no need to be friends when you are co-workers and he is already has a crush on you.

If you're afraid of giving him the wong impression, then just act as an auaintance... Don't make friends, you're probably better off not anyway.
