First of all I live in Ohio, USA.. I am looking for a vine type of flower that is purple or white or both...
Also should I wait till the fall to plant Lilies or should I even try to grow them here?

Clematis is nice. Large flowers and plenty of green. Lillies will grow in your area. Find out which ones are recomended for your cliate as there have been many new developements in plants over the years.

Can't help with the vine, but I'm sure there is something. Ask at your local garden centre.

Lillies need a moisture retaining, but not wet soil. They can be planted now. If your soil is not right, consider planting them in pots, which can then be plunged in to the soil, or just moved around to wherever you need them.

wisteria is a pretty vine plant-- both white and purple flowers-- I believe there's 4 common types that can grow in zones 5-10

Lilies should be fine-- just make sure you go w/ something that can tolerate your zone-- most daylilies do fine in cold weather b/c there bulbs are hardy... Best to plant bulbs in Dec and Jan, but depending on species, you could try to do it now...

I live in MI and it is a bit colder here. Lilly's do fine here. I love Daylillies, they come in many colors, and after they are done you still have all that beautiful foliage. Iris is one more low maintenance flower that comes in so many colors. I like most of the plants that come up every year and double in size. Hosta's are great for shade and again there are so many to choose from
