My goldie vomitted a few times within 5 hours. The fluid was initially yellow brown in color and became clear thereafter. He is still alert but a bit tired. He managed to pass out hard stool though. Did he ate something wrong? coz i suspect the yellow brown fluid could be the rib my granny fed him secretly coz normally he vomits light yellow color. he also ate some medicine the night before. suggestion? he just vomit whatever he drank.

Hi there,

I am a vet to be honest. Sometimes when a dog eats something different than normal or even somethin irrtant such a bone, aprticularly a cooked bone it will vomit. Most times fortunately it will resolve on its own but sometimes it doesn't. If your dog is bright then sometimes just providing a good probiotic such as yakult or protexin (a vet probiotic) can help. Starving for 12 to 24 hours can help too. A bland diet such as chicken and rice over the next few days will help too. HOWEVER, if it does not resolve over 24 hours OR if he gets worse particualrly if he becomes depressed or bleeding is seen you MUST seek vet advice immediately. I do not relish the prospect of doing a gut rescetion at 3am and if the vomiting continues you must also worry about the dehydration and electrolyte imbalances than can occur.

Do you have a veterinarian? Do you dislike the vet? There must be some reason you are not taking this sick puppy to see his doctor. Just take the poor thing to a doctor. The people who answer questions on Yahoo don't know what is going on....with the possible exception of the guy above this answer.

And tell your granny to stop feeding him ribs secretly.

What kind of medicine????? If he is still vomiting and is acting very tired and not himself then you need to get to the vets. Tell the vet what kind of medicine he ate and how much. Any human medicine could possibly kill you dog.

Also tell grany to stop feeding your dog bones!

I think it may be bloat. More commonly known as a twisted stomach. You have to take him to emergency care imediantly or he will die. Goldens are very pron to this illness.

Second thing is it could be poison in that case you will still need to take him to the vet now.

Take him to the vet ASAP!!! He might have swallowed rat poisen or worse, if its somthing making that happen iit can't be good. RUSH HIM TO THE NEAREST VET! He could be very sick.
I wish you two the best of luck!

well...... i think it is normal. it is most likely the medicine or the ribs. but if he is tired and is not very active let him rest to get over the pain. :)
