Very often a condition called Blepharitis, an inflammation of the very small eye lash follicles on the eyelids. Lids may look a bit red and certainly can be itchy, although sometimes no symptoms are noticed and is not discovered until an eye examination is carried out. perhaps as a preparation for an eye operation. Poor hygiene is not always a cause, but concentration on "eye lid hygiene" can solve the problem simply. The use of a little baby shampoo ( which is kind to eyes and wont nip) in boiled COOLED water, used to firmly, but not roughly scrub the eye lids 2 or 3 times a day for a week can usually cure blepharitis, if no improvement is noticed after this time, worthwhile contacting your local eye hospital casualty dept., to eliminate other possible problems, and remember to wash the hands before and after cleaning the eyes. Good luck, hope it gets better and try not to scratch too much

Depends whether you are talking about the lids or the lash margins.
The lids are very fine and sensitive skin. They can get itchy with simple dryness, eczema or contact dermatitis. Often simple moisturising is usually all that is needed to deal with this in all but the worst cases. Avoid those which contain lanolin.
The lash margins of lids can be affected by a condition called blepharitis. If this is the case there may be small flakes around the lash margins. The treatment for this is an odd one! Carefully cleanse the lids with Johnson's Baby shampoo 1-2 times daily.
If these simple measures are not successful go see your GP.

allergens. you will probably never find out what it is you are reacting to as you will never beable to isolate it.
try starflower cream. it stops the itching and protects the eyelid from getting dry and flaky.

could be several things...have you recently changed any of your eye make-up products, that could cause irritation...it could also be an airborne allergy and will probably go away in the next few weeks as the weather changes.
You could try Claritin- a non-drowsy allergy medication if the itch gets really bad,
Good luck.

it may be an allergic reaction to something you put onto your lids. think moisturizers, make up, soap, etc. eliminate all products, treat with Benedryl, and start over with new products once the itching is resolved. if the problem persists, follow up with your doctor.

It's an allergy to SOMETHING.
For me it's pollen. Each year the pollen breaks out, I know it. My eyes are all itchy.
Try Clariton or Allegra. They should help.

My guess it's those little mites that live in your eyelashes along your eyelids.
