Of course it is a choice. And tell us more about these tan, blonde women. Were you born that way or did you choose to be chasing after them? When you were like 5 years old did know that tan, blonde women were more fun? Did you see tan, blonde women on TV and then make up your mind? And what if you never, in your life, even saw a tan, blonde woman would you still be attracted to them? What if all tan, blonde women were gay? Then what? Would you still chase after them and beg them to change?
If I had a "gay" child I would let the cards fall where they may. Still would be my child no matter what.

Do you honestly think anyone can choose what gender attracts them? Could you choose to be attracted to the same gender? Did you choose to be straight in spite of your actual attractions? Of course not. If you are straight it's because you were born that way. Same thing is true for gay people. It cannot be a choice.
As for a gay gene, if such were discovered and then found in my unborn child, I would not consider it any kind of 'affliction', but simply a part of who that child was.

Most are genetically predisposed and have no choice. The genetic flaw is similar to being color blind. Color blind people don't "choose" to not see color. They have no choice.
The ones that choose today are the deviates. Ancient Greek warriors had male lovers as women and children would have resulted in "Alexander the Pretty Good". Families burden soldier's concentration and prevent then from being the best they could have been 2,300 years ago. Back then it was survival.

I don't know if I can give you a satisfactory answer because it may sound contradictory.
I believe that physically, a person can be born with a sexual preference for a person of the same sex. However, I think that whether or not they put those feelings into practice is definately by choice.
Would I change it if I could? No. I believe that each one of us is a child of God and you are what you are. Sometimes though, I think he may allow things to happen to us (even before birth) that will cause us to face many challenges and to see if we can follow him regardless of those challenges. Being gay is no different than being born blind or deaf of handicapped in any other way. It is what you do with it that matters.

I would not have my child "changed" to straight, even if this were possible. And I don't think your first sentence makes sense. Do you really choose based on a preference? Isn't a preference something that naturally happens? Did you wake up one day, think about it over coffee, and decide that you would like to be more attracted to tan blonde women than pale brunettes? If you naturally have a strong PREFERENCE for your own sex, how is that different than being born gay?

Yes, there are a small number of sexually 'confused' people in the world, however, the vast majority of homosexuals did not choose their orientation.
For heterosexual males who may disagree. Try thinking about being with another male. Pretty gross, huh? You think any other heterosexual would choose to be that way? There is your answer.
Please do not label me a homophobe, as I am not. This is merely a model to try and open some ignorant eyes.

I was born "straight" so why cant others be born "gay"? If we are born programmed to be attracted to the opposite sex, then is it not conceivable that we could accidently be born with the wires crossed? (so to speak) I mean I have nothing against homosexuals but for myself I find it repugnant to even think about doing sexual things with the same sex, if we are born that way then how can we possibly choose to go against that? I know I could never "choose" to be gay because I am programmed to be straight. It has to be the same with homosexuals, I mean think about it... I have talked with a few gay friends and they have the same repugnant feeling when they think about doing sexual stuff with the opposite sex, they didnt choose to feel that way anymore than I choose to feel attracted by the opposite and repelled by the same.. it just is that way and I cant choose different, neither can they.
If I had a child that was found to be homosexual while still in the womb, yes I would change it because I think they would have a better life maybe easier on them because of all the hatred towards gays, also because I was born straight and as I said it kinda grosses me out... sexually
However I would still love a child that was gay and couldnt be changed I mean my neice is a les and I still love her and I dont treat her any differently. I just think her sex life is kinda gross, but thats not who she really is as a person thats just what she likes to do in the bedroom.. just as I think anal sex(man&women) is gross but doesnt add up to the sum of who a person is, I dont have to do it so I dont care what other people choose to do. I can still be repelled by it and disagree with doing it, but I dont judge people based on it.

I don't think people are born gay. I also don't believe in Gays lifestyle as I think it is against God. Just because you have feelings for some odd reason to a member of the same sex doesn't mean you should act on it.

No I do not.
Here is some food for thought. Twining is a birth defect. Does that make twins freaks to be looked down upon and ridiculed? No it does not. Lets take the gay community out from under the microscope and live in peace!!

Some do, some don't. Their is a physiological reason that people are attracted to each other. Those who are born "gay" were born with their "sexual" glands tuned to the same sex pheromones. Being born in a condition does not make the condition a good thing.
If their were a screening test, I'm sure many would opt to change the outcome. There is no doubt that the entire human body was designed to perform a special function.
