Yes it's a wait alright. They need to take pictures of your teeth and take an imprint of your teeth and make a mold of them. Then this is sent to your insurance to see if and or what they can cover. Once that procedure is done you will have to go back to start putting on your braces. Braces are unique according to your personal situation. You will be given instructions on how to take care of your teeth while you have braces. You will need to follow EVERY instruction that is given to you so that you don't damage your braces and/or your teeth. If you do take good care of your teeth while wearing braces the length of time that you will be wearing them can be shortened. Think about it, they're your teeth you don't want someone doing a "rush" job on them. You want the best possible care.

I have heard of some people getting braces a week after there consultation. The length of time varies. I saw my orthodontist for an evaluation on Feb. 8 and I am not getting my braces on until March 29. Talk about being furious. Hopefully, your wait time won't be that long and just get a second or third opinion. My orthodontist took the x-rays and the mold of my teeth at the first visit. I wish you the best of luck.

As far as I know there is nothing they need to prepare before you get braces on. I think I did the consultation and before we left made an appointment for the anchors (around the back teeth to hold the ends of the wire). I had the anchors for a little while before the rest of the braces were put on.

I would think you could get the process started for as soon as you can get an appointment.

I did not have to wait that long. I did however have a lot of consultations until I found one with an acceptable price and I was comfortable with her and the staff. My initial consultation was Dec 22, the records and spacers were completed on Jan 7th and the braces went on Jan 12th. Maybe it depends on your area. My Ortho's office is like a well oiled machine and she has a ton of staff. Keep looking until you find an Ortho (and their staff) you feel comfortable with.

It takes 2 or 3 days for the discomfort to bypass away first. yet consume, in spite of if it hurts the next day thepain would be much less. and that i had mine tightened at present, had my braces just about a 12 months now and it doesnt harm anymore. they simply experience looser, because of fact they're shifting. And when you get them tightened back it extremely is going to likely be an afternoon or so till now they're back to widely used.

Yup. Regular preparations. Any orthodontist is going to take atleast a month to get them on.. then it's another 2+ years before they come off! Oh the joys of braces!
