Yes. Go to your student financial aid office. There is a program available that allows students to get laptops. The basic requirement is that you're not maxed out on loans already. They will increase loan amount enough for you to get a laptop. Just ask the office about it and they'll explain all the details.

you could always go to a rent to own place-- rent a center, rent way, and so on....you will pay more in the end but only need references of people who know you
