How long does a "crush" last for normally? I have had feelings for someone who, I know I could never be with, for nearly two years now. I just can't seem to get him out of my mind. When will I forget about him?

I still have feelings for a past girlfriend, despite the bloody fact that she elbowed me 9 years ago. When you meet someone else and form a relationship, you will not think of him as much. There is nothing wrong with the way you feel.

Crushes can be extended, brief, or somewhere in-between. I can't tell you exactly how long it will take you to forget about him, because I'm not you. I do know that when I really thought I was in love with my best friend, and had a crush on him for over a year, it took me eight months to get over him and move on to my new, wonderful boyfriend. Honestly, you're not doing the healthiest thing by continuing to dwell on him. Don't think about him anymore. And I know that's hard, but you've got to do it. First, spend time with girl friends. Have fun! Flirt with other guys! I promise another one will come along... there are way too many out there to be stuck on one. You can move on, it'll just take time... and most of all, effort! Good luck! I did it, I know you can too!

find someone else. Otherwise you end up like Niles & Daphnee of Fraiser. Wanting for years with no return but unlike in the sitcom you will probally not have a happy ending. You can do only one of two things. One, forget about them and find someone else. Two, tell them the way you feal and hope for the best.

Hey Buddy,

Crushes, like relationships, like love, like hatred, last durations dependant upon a broad set of circ's. It is virtually impossible to give an answer in terms of timespan, some things evaporate no sooner than they appear, others proliferate then die, and some stay with us a life time. I think it's important to 'accept' that 'which is', but live your life without regrets, and to the full. tc and good luck........

as long as it takes. i had also when i was in high school. until now he got a small spot here in my heart and mind. difficult, i know. until now, i even think of him that maybe we could be but i don't think so because he has a girlfriend. the problem is it will keep on coming back to you. just don't try to, it will just fade(the feeling) before you know it. how old are you anyway???

This sounds a little more like obsession than a crush...you need something else to focus on!

Don't think there's a time limit. When you met someone else that blows your socks off, your crush will disappear.
