You are still so very young. We all go through ups and downs in life so it's hard to say at what age things are the best. I DO think things get nothing but better from about 25 on. Anyone who thinks the teenage years and young adulthood is easy - obviously has a very selective memory. You are under a lot of stress with school and or career demands - not to mention relationship stresses as you feel your way toward marriage etc. Add to this a basic lack of life experience and maturity and it doesn't make for an easy time of life. Hang in there. Find someone to talk to - even if it isn't a professional. Do you have a trusted older neighbor, friend, or relative you can vent to? Do make an appointment with a physician to rule out clinical depression or other disorders. Mild medications might be in order to help you through this time. Please remember that life has a lot to offer. I suspect your best times are still ahead of you.
To answer your first question - who knows what the best time in my life was? I am 53 and it just gets better and better. Look forward and not backward. After all - what choice do we have? You can do it!

Frame of mind has a lot to do with it. When you have negative thoughts it will impact your environment, maybe not right away but somewhere down the road you'll find it to be true.
Everyone goes through stages where they feel really low, for the past 6 years I struggled like that, everything seemed to be falling apart all around me and I didn't feel like I had any control over it, but I realized that I can control how lucky I am or how positive situations can be drawn to me simply by being positive and not giving up and my situation has changed because I wanted it to. So, now is the best time in my life, I finally have a good handle on how to deal with my emotions, my surroundings and the people around me. Hang in there, surround yourself with things you love, things that make you feel good. Create a positive environment for yourself and things will change, patience is the key. Do what you can now to feel better and stop the dive into depression and other mental 'illnesses'. Tell yourself, I am worth it, I deserve to be happy and I deserve positive influence. You'll survive - POSITIVITY is the KEY!
As far as being bi-polar is concerned I'm quite certain that only a doctor can diagnose it, talk to one, tell them how you feel and how it's affecting you. If you have sudden mood swings make sure to tell them about it. My very best wishes to you!

You would need to see a doctor to find out if your bipolar, suffer from depression, etc. But also think about the things you've gone through in the past 8years. Did something bad and/or sad happen to you or someone close to you? Did you make bad choices? Sometimes people are traumatized by some things that happen in their life.( It doesn't have to be tragic to affect us hard). Sometimes when we are overwhelmed with responsibilities and if we feel we haven't accomplished everything we seem to get "down" on ourselves. It won't hurt to seek a doctor's advice. What can help is if you write down your feelings in a journal. Maybe by writing it down it can help you in a "visual" manner. Either way, the important thing is for you to feel better.Good luck.

STOP! Breath. Good. Now look at me(or your computer screen). You don't have bipolar trust me you are just really bored. No joke! When I'm bored my heart starts racing and I start tearing paper like nobody's business. Go out and take a walk, call a friend, or play with your dog. Good Luck. PS. I love that song Banana Pancakes! And if you were bipolar you wouldn't sit in your seat long enough to write this sentence. :)

Bi-polar? I doubt it.. just reminiscing on the past. I'm 18 and I'm loving life.. but then again, that's just me. Different people have different lives and different opinions. For some, the best time of their lives might have been similar.. for others, shoot, they could be in their 30's, 40's, 50's even and living it up. It all depends.

I can't know whether you are bipolar from that short description, but you do seem to be having some issues. Why not see a doctor?

You might just be depressed. Bipolar disorder is a very serious mental disorder that requires help. It consists of depression and mania (though mixed episodes can happen).

Are you asking if you are irrational? Maybe. But not Bipolar. Bipolar is just a label.
