My dog has just swallowed a baloon, but shows no signs of feeling ill ( such as breathing unproperly, etc).He is somehow more anxious than usual, but that may not be relevant.
Is there anything I should do? Are there any risks?Thank you !

Thank you so much for helping out!

The dog`s size is medium-large, weighting about 30kg.
Apparently, he is just fine: he ate one or two pieces of bread , drank some water. He shows no breathing or behavioural problems. Are there any particular signs I should follow.

It may pass through but if he shows signs of not wanting to eat or drink anything in a 24 hour time take him to the vet ASAP... it may mean that the balloon could get stuck in his intestinal track and need surgery to remove it... Other than that keep your pooch safe from eating anything else that is not supposed to be for your doggy =)

Keep an eye on him & if there's anything strange, take him to the vet. He may just be anxious because you are. Pets are very in tune to our emotions. Watch his poo for the baloon. If it comes out on its own within a day or two, and he seems fine, don't worry about it. If not, get him some help. I once had a dog who swallowed a whole candy bar, wrapper and all.
I didn't even know that she had eaten it until it came out the other end, still in the wrapper!

Several questions:
1. How big is your dog?
2. How big was the piece of balloon?

Sometimes dogs eat strange things and nothing happens to them. My only concern is that he won't be able to "pass" the balloon which in turn may cause problems. If it was just a little piece of a balloon, I wouldn't worry about it especially if he's a big dog. But if he's a little dog, you might have problems.

It never hurts to call the vet! That's my advice.

I would watch him closely for the night...he might have trouble passing it. And also make sure he does not have any trouble breathing. Make sure he/she is eating properly.

I would call the vet in the morning and ask them to see if they want to see him. They may want to because this balloon could cause a blockage in the gastrointestinal tract..which will lead to big problems. They will xray and be able to tell you more.

Just watch your dog closely and call the vet in the am or if you're really concerned get intouch with an emergency clinic.

Hmm.... i cant find any links so here's my point of view.

If it were me-i would have him to the vet ASAP!Rubber pieces and a dog does not mix well,I'm probably over reacting...If it was a whole balloon-take him to the vet.... if it was a piece-small piece-watch him carefully for reactions! The balloon may or may not pass through-and if it doesn't-the sooner you get to the vet-the better chance your dog has!Good luck-hope this helps!

It may be your anxiety that he is feeling..so is acting a little stressed.
If he isn't a teeny toy breed it should pass just fine.. If he is under 6 pounds, you should call his vet.
It may help to give him something such as a spoon of Metamucil sprinkled over food, or a spoon of canned pumpkin to hurry things along, so it passes quickly..If he has no food allergies, a spoon of canned creamed corn will help too..
Watch him for any difficutly pooping, and if he continues to poop as normal for 2 days, there is no more worry..

Well, to be safe, you should take it to a vet. But if you think it's completely fine, you don't have to. Your dog might get sick from the balloon, or the balloon might go through it's digestive with out causing much harm...

He is probably anxious because your worried. Baloon shouldn't hurt, as long as he still dumps normal. If he hasn't eaten worse things already he will.

I used to make abode made canines biscuits in basic terms for exciting for my acquaintances canines and particular we ate some. they're no distinctive than different baked products yet fit bc we tend to sweeten and fat up our human consumables. Munch on. they're effective to consume. something your canines eats you may consume. I wouldn't bypass attempting to consume their food on a popular foundation as we've distinctive nutritional desires than a canines in spite of the undeniable fact that it wouldn't harm absolutely everyone to consume a pup biscuit.
