The amount of water of water that a pipe can carry is proportional to the area of the cross section of the pipe opening. How many two-inch diameter pipes are needed to carry the same amount of water as one six-inch diameter pipe?

Area = pi r^2

X pi (1) = pi (9)

X = 9
