It is amazing that if this was done in any other field (ie: politics or in the courts), the same people that are believers would be the loudest ones screaming. Come on, you have let us read your book and it contradicts itself, the premise of your religion is based on that book. I guess for believers when a murderer is being tried, and all the evidence points to them being guilty, somehow they can just ignore the evidence and "believe" him innocent. Childish, very childish. I agree with you, it would seem that someone it trying to hide something, but then I guess if you operated the largest corporation on the planet, would you want to give up all that wealth and power?

The priests of the Catholic Church were the ones telling their people not to read. Since we had a translation into a common language christian people have been hungry for the word. If you can't understand it or see contradictions then I invite you to take a leap of faith trust Jesus for life and see how clear it becomes... Jim

If you are referring to the Bible, the last part of your statement is untrue. It isn't that the Bible does not make sense without faith...it does. It is simply that mankind has a great deal of trouble believing that anyone could possibly be as loving and good as is God. After all, look at what we have become. You can't trust your best friend or your neighbor...how could you possibly trust someone who says I love you regardless of what you are? That is what takes faith. Believing that you are his prized possession.

NO ONE is trying to hide that Christianity is a FAITH-BASED religion. It is probably the best 'full disclosure' around.

Watch out, though--once a man's faith starts to grow, his mind, having now been expanded, can never return to its original dimensions.

Best of luck in your search for truth.

Since accepting my call to Christ, I've always wondered why a church would tell people not to read their bibles or not encourage them to do so. Why wouldn't you want people to read the very word of God in whom they have believed? The Catholic faith for centuries told people to allow them to interpret the bible for them and that they didn't have to read it themselves. However, that is not so in all Christian denominations. I attend a Baptist Church and not only do they break down the scripture into simple understanding but they encourage you to read your bible everyday, know scripture, and allow the Holy Spirit to speak to you through scripture.

The reason for their logic is the religious leaders, theologians and teachers, do not understand scriptures themselves..

Jesus' true ministry went into your religion and if you had none, It was your personal morals and values..

God and Jesus are good and we are to respect, and look for the good of others and things... ( things: are trees, water, etc. )

and to be fair in our dealings with others..

and to deeply respect truth in ourselves and others..

Jesus' true ministry is God calling His true children, No matter what religion or no religion, race, or Nation in the world.. and it mattered not of sexual orientation.. it is all a matter of Spiritual orientation..

Get it straight...the CATHOLIC leaders didn't want people reading the Bible and in fact, put MANY, MANY Bible believers to death tortuously for defending it, because it's ALWAYS been by Faith! They have always been the ones to say there's NO Salvation outside the catholic church!

When in fact, there's no Salvation outside JESUS ALONE. NO church needed!!!
