When you're on probation, any type of travel must be OK'd with with the probation officer. The longer in advance you let them know, the better your chances are. It goes a long way to show some respect these days, especially with authority figures. If they happen to call your house while you're away on a vacation that the probation officer wasn't notified of, you're in violation of your probation. Then it's all downhill again.

they usually give you permission. Ive never heard of them denying you for just a misdemenor. He could also go without asking I've done that before and it went smoothly. depends how often you have to visit the officer

I doubt it, that be a violation of his probation. You can't leave a certain area, you could try but it's highly unlikely that he would be able to go.

Depends on his PO. I don't think so, but it don't hurt to ask.
