I'm asking questions because I honestly want to know what folks are thinking from an atheist perspective. I'm not trying to corner or demean anyone. I noticed lots of atheist challenges to my faith, so I wanted to learn more about their perspective.
Is this an acceptable approach for the folks with an atheistic bent?

Why would an atheist NOT want to discuss their perspective? Each of their "challenges" they've first tried out on themselves. Atheism is all about not taking opinions for granted. So don't be afraid to ask a sincere question. (It's the fake ones that aren't seeking a serious answer that make us cranky.)

I'm not an atheist, but I think that seems like a good, respectful approach. You are asking questions without attacking anyone. You are keeping an open mind. Good for you. I hope you get the responses you are seeking!

There's nothing wrong with asking questions when you want to know about something. As long as it's done in a respectful way then go ahead and ask away.

Its perfectly fine, as long as you approach the discussion with the desire to learn, you are already well along the path to free thinking. (Making your own decisions instead of taking things because "someone said so".
