some signs that my mom and sister showed before they had one are:
Mom would space out...while driving, watching tv. She would not be there until it was over...thse were her petit mal seizures. Then she started having grand mal seizures and you know how those go.

My sister would blink a lot before she had one. They used to think it was an allergy until they linked it to her epilepsy.

They would show signs for a few days and then have the seizures and they didn't always have one if we caught them in time and paid attention. When we saw them happening they would go somewhere and relax, sleep, stay away from high stressed situations and definately kept them away from their triggers until they were calmed down...this only worked a few times. You can't really stop a seizure and once they are having one you can't stop it then either. It doesn't really hurt them unless they are having them a lot. But as long as they are on their meds then they are fine...they haven't had one in a long time. My mom will have a petit mal when things get stressful and my sister had her last one when she was going into labor with her second child. hope this helps.

I'm a nurse. You have to see a doctor for this in order to get the proper diagnoses. It could be something else or even something much more serious. But these seizures usually come without warning or sometimes the person may have a scent/smell or say something out of the ordinary before they have the seizure. Nevertheless this is very serious and can be life threatening, see a doctor right away, your life may depend on it. All the best.

epilepsy is the diagnosis given to a patient who suffers from seizures without any known cause.
