I think its very ga y that Jeep is making all of there veichles from rugged to piece of crap.

Lets take the Jeep Wrangler, now its fenders are plastic, not metal, it has electric windows, not crank ones, they all are starting to have 4 doors, not 2 doors. Also the Jeep Compass looks really ga y too I think.

The only new Jeeps that I like was the 2002-2003 Liberty, 2003 and below Cherokees, and Commander. They should've stayed with the Jeep Rubicon they had in 2005 with the factory lockers and etc. Well do you think like me? Or are you like not a die-hard Jeep fan?

When I talk about the Jeep Wrangler in the 2nd paragraph, I mean the late 06 and 07's.

For mufflerbearing1967, The Liberty ISN'T MY FAVROITE! I just said that I liked it thats it. My Favroite is the original Jeep MB that was used in WWII. And lastly, I used theword gay only 2 times!

And I forgot about Veronica S., you can get a hard top if you get a Wrangler otherwise you are forced to get a hard top

And for all of the new answers, what is SO BAD about the Liberty? Its not that bad, if it is then you tell me why?

And I will add that I got confused with Mufflerbearing1967's answer, I for some reason was reading fast and I thought that he said I used the word gay three times not two. So yeah.

Can't believe you like the Liberty? Die hard Jeep fan, and you like the things with independent front suspension?

And they didn't make an XJ (Cherokee) in 03, or 02, the last year of the Cherokee was 2001.

2005 and 2006 Wranglers were identical, the new JKs that you are talking about are 2007s. The JK is any less capable off-road than the 06-down Rubicons, its still offered in a Rubicon package with front and rear lockers, and it comes with larger tires than previously offered (They are now 32" tires).

Dude, you need help. A true die hard Jeep fan knows that a Jeep is not bought. It is made by the owner. The Jeep Liberty is a "Girl Jeep" down to the lug nuts. That thing is "Mall Rated" and that is all it will ever be. As for the Wrangler, ever since 1987 the YJ stands for "Yuppie Jeep". There has not been a good model of Jeep since the Jeep Wagoneer ceased production in 1991. The last of the true "Steel Beast" that will do some serious damage to another vehicle if it hits it. Those things weighed a minimum of 6000lbs. But when AMC stopped the CJ 5 and CJ 7 in 1986. Jeep lost a "testicular fortitude" with serious Jeep people.
That is why I don't own a Jeep any newer than 1986. I love my old Jeeps and always will. All

Well, thank all the soccor moms out there, because that's mainly what Jeep is catering too now, that and city people that don't understand what a Jeep was built for.

I agree with you that the new Jeeps are gay. There should never have been a thought of making a 4door Jeep Wrangler, if you want a 4 door jeep buy a cherokee. And the Jeep Compass is front wheel drive, that's not a jeep to me.

I also don't care for the V6 engines that they're using now, they suck gas, 18MPG is terrible mileage on a 6 cylinder jeep. I average about 24-28MPG on my 96 Grand Cherokee with the 4.0L straight 6 engine. A bullet proof engine that apparently Chrysler wasn't making enough money on, that they decided to dump the greatest engine ever built and use a foreign engine that was a piece of crap right off the crate.

Jeep 4WD systems are now push button, what the hell is that about, I just call it lazyness on the owners part, oh moving that lever is so hard of a job, put the cell phone down and learn how to drive.

Sorry until Jeep changes their styling, and goes back to what a Jeep truly is I'll never buy another one.

From a company stand point Jeep needs to make vehicles that make money. I personally don't feel the new line is really jeep material. But from a real jeep point of view Good for jeep for making all the parts we take off any way out of plastic and very easy to take off and replace with real parts. Lets face it the general public doesn't want or need a real jeep. They just want a Jeep. Any jeep that has broken the mold has received criticism. Until a Jeep proves itself it is not a real Jeep. The new jeeps will never prove their off road prowess because they are not really built for it. I think jeep killed themselves with the liberty. What in the world were they thinking? The Cherokee is nothing short of an awesome rig. Mine has a 4.5 inch lift with 33s. It is a sport model so air and power windows and locks and such are on it. Most real jeep guy have the belief that Jeeps are built not bought. I am in that category. I believe that there is a difference between a Jeep person and a person that drives a Jeep. It truly is a Jeep thing.

I work at the Toledo Jeep Wrangler assembly plant and they still make a 2007 Rubicon with the same features as the TJ models. As far as the plastic fenders, show me a vehicle like this that doesn't have plastic sticking out of it,besides that if you hit a rock 4wheelin it's easy to replace plastic fenders.2007 is avaliable with crank handles and 2 doors but we build mostly 4 doors because that's what people want. Also the 2007 Jeep Wrangler has been named 4X4 of the year by 4Weel & Off Road magazine.

Ok guys I might be able to add something to this argument.

Roll Cage--- Yea you should have one before you step foot in a jeep, but if you wreck at speeds over 40mph I wouldn't trust it. In fact a roll over wreck in a (true roll bar soft hard top mj, cj, yj, tj) jeep at over 40 I feel would = death.

Luxury Vehicle----- Us true jeep guys have trail rigs that we take on pavement just because we weren't the ones who put the asphalt down. Jeep has been known for building simple, fairly reliable, extremely capable vehicles. To us Jeep means a non-conventional ATV (a great big 4-wheeler) that will hold the girl, the dog, and the cooler!! What an awesome afternoon in the fire lanes!

Daily Driver----- Jeep wants to make money. Everybody wants a jeep for the same reasons that us true jeep fans want one, but they want to drive it to work 95% of the time. Jeep has started to cater to these people and the simple design and off road capability has suffered. Jeep did throw us true jeepers a bone with the Rubi but it comes with too much other junk.

BTW A true jeep only has 2 doors and you can climb into it from any point behind the windshield. All that other stuff with the Jeep name on it is just chrysler trying to sell you a dream.

i think your argument is kind of one-sided. what you're saying about the newer jeeps is like when people say they love a certain song until its played on the radio and everybody else loves it. then all of a sudden it isnt 'cool' anymore. people buy jeeps for many reasons besides off-roading. i like the company, the performance, the appearance, and the history of the company. these days i have a family and i need a 4x4 during the winter time, and from my past history (have owned a cherokee sport, a liberty, and two grand cherokees) jeeps are very reliable. thats why i'm going with the new 4 door wrangler unlimited. ive done my research and i believe its the best vehicle for the price that meets my (and my family's) needs. given, i live in a concrete jungle, and would use it mainly on city streets, i still want the option of 4 wheel drive for when it snows and such. seems to me that there is a jeep to meet every need, which is why the company is so successful. they wouldnt make any money if they sold only the jeeps that YOU like.

Okay, not only do you use the word gay twice in the first three sentences, you then pick probably the GAYEST Jeep vehicle ever made as your fave? A jeep liberty? Call yourself a die hard jeep fan? You should hang your head in shame and put on your cheerleader skirt imediately.

But I agree, Jeep took the expressway to Sucksville with the four door Wrangler and the crappy little compass. Unfortunately, there does not appear to be a u-turn up ahead.

this is all part of hitler's master plan: the rural nazification of amerika we should retaliate by opening Hyundai dealerships in germany and use the proceeds to purchase jeep out of the Chrysler/mercedes debacle then close down the Hyundai dealerships blaming it all on the french.then bring back the XJ series, drop liberty, keep commander, and de-pimp the Grand Cherokee,.and most of all NO 4 DOOR WRANGLERS.or COMPASSES [ a real Jeep owner knows where they are going and that direction matters not].

plastic fenders flex instead of dent. thats a good thing off road.

aside from the compass...jeep is maintaining its line-up very good.

if you got $, the quadra-driveII system available on the grand cherokees and commanders is world class.
