Grab some oranges. Roll them between your hand and the kitchen counter until they start to feel squishy and soft (you're basically popping the juice cells inside). Grab a plate with high sides and cut the oranges. The plate is there to catch the liquid as it pours out. Pour the spilled juice into a jug/cup/container. Then use an orange squeezer/juicer to squeeze out the juice from each orange half. You'll need about three halves per glass. Top up with water, and add sugar to taste. Fish out any bits of seed that fell in by mistake.

If you don't like pulp, you might have to strain the juice before you drink it.

Things You'll Need
oranges (2 per 8-oz. serving)
strainers (for less pulp)
juicers (optional)
paring knives
drinking glasses
slotted spoons (for added pulp)

Instructions

STEP 1: Begin by tightly squeezing oranges repeatedly to soften them.

STEP 2: Wash thoroughly, cut into halves and remove seeds.

STEP 3: Proceed to step 11 if using a juicer.

STEP 4: Carefully cut circularly around the edge of an orange half, slightly separating the fruit and peel.

STEP 5: Grip the orange half tightly and squeeze directly into a glass or serving pitcher.

STEP 6: Continue squeezing and periodically rotating the orange in your hand until liquid is no longer produced.

STEP 7: Scrape the orange with a spoon and add fruit directly to the juice for additional pulp.

STEP 8: Put the juice through a strainer for less pulp.

STEP 9: Repeat with the other orange halves.

STEP 10: Serve and enjoy.

STEP 11: Follow specific machine instructions on loading and juicing oranges if using a juicer.

Tips & Warnings

Storing oranges at room temperature promotes softening, making oranges more manageable and yielding the most juice.

Add ice if necessary and refrigerate any remaining juice immediately.

Freshly squeezed orange juice is best enjoyed with pulp.

Orange Juice

The Delightfully Great Taste Of Fresh Homemade Orange Juice!
...orange juice is an excellent source ofvitamin C and calcium...
Oranges are best known for their vitamin C content, which helps activate our own detoxification processes. Vitamin C has also been known to help fight osteoporosis. Most Americans today get the majority of their vitamin C from oranges. The fiber content in oranges also helps prevent the risk of developing colon cancer. Even orange zest contains skin-cancer-fighting compounds. Juicing oranges may also help fight and prevent lung and breast cancer. This is because oranges are very rich in a compound called citrus limonoid. A small orange (roughly five ounces) contains large amounts of folic acid, potassium, and thiamin. Oranges can be added to various cooked or cold dishes, eaten as snacks, or squeezed for their delicious juice.

One orange contains about 50mg of vitamin C. That is about 2/3 of our daily need.
Fresh, homemade orange juice is an excellent source of calcium.
Room-temperature oranges will yield more juice than oranges that are refrigerated. Using your palm to roll the orange around on the countertop a few times before squeezing the fruit will help extract more juice. Also, microwaving your oranges for a few seconds will help to loosen up the juice inside so that you are able to get more of the juice while making fresh oranges. You can store freshly made orange juice in the refrigerator for one to two weeks.

Good luck!

If you have a juicer that is the easiest way. If not, roll the oranges on a counter top to make them soft, once you split them in 1/2 all you need to do is sqeeze the juice out:)

Homemade Orange Juice

INGREDIENTS
4 oranges
DIRECTIONS
Lightly smack each orange on the counter. Cut each one in half. Squeeze into a glass. You may also use a citrus reamer to do this. If you want less pulp, use a hand juicer with a strainer.
