IRS can freeze your accounts, take money from your accounts and make your life a living heXX. Should have discussed the tax issue with your lawyer who did your bankruptcy. Taxes can not be washed in bankruptcy. No way you can get out of paying those.
Good luck.

Free advice is worth what you pay for it.

Oh yeah, big time. I am not too clear but I heard that if you are a federal employee, your wages cannot be garnish. However, I am not certain if this is with State, debt settlement, or if this does not applies to the IRS.

The reason I stated that. I work with a college professor whose wages were garnished by the IRS. She did not owe any back taxes, but her husband did and he is a federal employee that owed. Now, I am not sure if this tax was State, Federal, property, ect.

Either way, if there is a loophole to get out of paying, the IRS will find another way to get their money.

The IRS is forgiving on back taxes if you contact them. Of course, there are penalties and interest rates to consider. However, consider the constant threat of having your wages garnished. My advice is to contact the IRS and work a payment plan. Yes, it will cost money but it will cut back the financial headache.

P.S. – Mind your taxes in the future.

P.S.S. – Unsettled tax debt will also reek hell on your credit history!

The I.R.S. can do pretty much anything they want including garnish your wages, attach your bank account, your property etc. If your taxes were not included in your B.K.? I would suggest setting up a payment plan with the I.R.S.. I did this several years ago and believe it or not they were very helpful.
