I read on espn.com that Floyd Sr. will work Jr's corner for the May 5th mega-fight against De La Hoya. I guess Oscar was smart not to pay Floyd Sr. the 2 Mil he was asking for because De La Hoya said that Sr's heart wouldn't be into training him to beat his son. Do you think De La Hoya was double crossed by Floyd Sr?

I don't think Floyd Sr. was out to double cross, in fact, he was against the whole concept altogether. He made it very clear he didn't even want to entertain the possibility of this match. If I recall correctly, it was at the end of the De La Hoya and Mayorga fight that he made this clear. As for asking for 2 million, I dunno, seems to me he was more apt to sell out his own son. Oscar is reported to earn 25 mill for this bout, is 2 mill really all that out of line? What worries me most as an Oscar fan, is that the man now training his undefeated opponent is also a virtual encyclopedia as to both Oscar's strengths and weaknesses. That is just wrong, but again, I don't believe it was intentional.
I just hate that for once, I lack terribly in confidence the outcome of this fight. I think Jr. is going to give him hell. I do know for certain, I think they are both awesome fighters and CANNOT WAIT for May 5th!

Pancho, I'm not surprised. It's a business. If Oscar had paid him the $$ would he have gotten a 100% from Sr? We'll never know. He may have been asking that much to get out of training Oscar for the fight, but that's pure speculation. No double cross in my opinion. Oscar's got a much better trainer the way I see it in Freddie Roach.

We all know that blood is thicker than water so Oscar shouldn't be surprised. I hope he kicks the crap out of Mayweather jr. because it was a snake move to me. Sr. knew Oscar wouldn't pay him no 2 million bucks so that was his way to get out of training Oscar which he had no intention of doing anyway. He pretended to be feuding with his son till he found out Oscar wouldn't pay him, now all of a sudden their best friends again and he's in jr.'s corner for the fight? Bullshlt! The Mayweathers had this planned all along and i hope Freddie Roach trains Oscar to destroy Floyd jr. and that will make sr. look silly!

If you were Floyd Sr. would you train some
one to beat your blood ? Family should be
together in the time of need. Well could You ?
Remember about blood & water, one is thicker
No double cross there, just logic.

Well.....Oscar told him that his heart was not in it, so natuarlly he went in his son's aid. I like Mayweather and everything, but Oscar is going to knock him out.
