Took me four days. After that it was just wanting the flavor and the activity. Sort of like...I like egg nog, and look forward to Christmas so I can get it. It was like wanting egg nog in July.
I've been quit for three years. I smelled someone else doing it, and it stank to me. I don't even remember liking it :)

An addiction is an addition. You'll always have it,
you'll always be addicted to nicotene. I went cold
turkey on this cigarette and hey it was hard. But I did it. 3 years so far. The only bad things I went through was sweating out of the nicotene. It was
terrible. I could also tell everyone who smoked,
even though they weren't. It was the smelling of the nicotene in their body. It's disgusting. I thank
God for his help, because the patches, gum and other things that didn't work. Prayer was a big part of it and it paid off.
Good Luck.

I quit smoking last September 1 after smoking for 30 years. I didn't have any problems from a physical addiction. My problem was more from a mental or habit addiction. For instance after I ate I found myself reaching for my shirt pocket. Driving down the freeway I would find myself reaching for my shirt pocket. I think it was more an idea of doing something than it was a craving for a cigarette. Good luck to you. It has taken a while but I am really beginning to feel a lot better than I did.

Physical isn't bad, but you will always be able to go back. I had to quit drinking too cause I needed a cigarette whenever I drank. I am able to control that now. I still wouldn't mind one, but will never have another one. I quit 26 years ago

it all depends on time used.... how many per use... chewing tobacco or cigarettes or cigars....
i smoked for years then was able to quit but i had to keep mouth and hand busy... and beware of bars or clubs due to others who smoked.... i quit for 6-8 months before picking it back up.....
