The only one who would value such belief is someone who wants obedient footsoldiers, rather than critical thinkers. The doctrine that "faith" is a good thing serves the purposes of the church hierarchy in that it discourages questioning and doubt; if God existed, it would serve his purposes if his desire was similar, and he was interested in controlling the obedient masses rather than earning their acknowledgment with evidence. Tyrants encourage cults of personality and blind adherence to tradition, and discourage thinking for yourself and questioning authority, because doing so preserves the status quo and discourages revolutionary new ideas.

I don't think that's quite the best way to word it... call it "scientific" proof or "comprehendible" proof and I might be able to answer. But a couple things for your consideration:
1) Faith by its very definition is based on something OTHER than scientific proof.
2) God exists beyond the confines of three dimensional space and time. How do you expect a being (such as a person) who is limitted by those confines to grasp something that is beyond?

well #1- there IS proof. look outside. did the world happen by chance? no. God made it. #2- FAITH. the Holy Spirit HELPS you believe. #3- God made you. So your body is proof. #4- He loves you so I don't see why you hate Him so much. #5- read the Bible. Everything it describes dates back to the first people. Turst me. Or ask people who are specialized in the study. There is scientific proof.
And the "value" in it... well I would call heaven a great gift, so I think it's worth it!

You are not required to believe in that which you do not know. As we evolve, we will discover more and more the existence of the Supreme Being. As well, we will learn more of how the Laws He created govern the universe.
You are not required to have faith to conduct your eternal life. You will not enter "Hell" as some would have you think, if you do not believe in the Supreme Being. Not negating belief and faith, it does help you through your corporeal existence, as also, assists in returning to the Spirit World after we dis-incarnate from this material world.
The Spirits are always with us, and look upon us with encouragement through our lives on this material world. Speaking to them in the form of what we call prayer, helps us to communicate to them our feelings and requests for assistance. They do hear us, and they do act upon our requests, if they are just and true.
But in the end, you do not need to believe to continue through eternity. When you are ready, and have your sufficient proof, you will believe.

God doesn't,,, People in positions of Poltical and Social power do. Blind belief over history has been used to control the masses, knowledge is power, keep knowledge to a bare minimum and use fear tactics if they suspicious.
That is why in the modernised world where people are encouraged to ask and investigate, such religious control is becoming obsolete... and where it is still in "rampant" we can all see, hear and even feel what the horrifying results have been and is still being churned out even at this very moment

The only "value" in that...is that such believers won't question superstitious and mythical dogma in the face of fact and evidence. Such people make great followers, easy to control and with no original thoughts of their own.
"god" doesn't want that (since no such thing exists) -- but religious leaders sure do :)

Proof - there is so much of it - to start with go outside and look around. You see the sky, the trees around you - this is the evidence of Creation.
I have been a Christian for over 37 years, and have seen God working in my life over this time. This is my experience.
Why don't you believe and trust Him as your Saviour and Lord.
You will soon have enough proof!

He provides proof on a daily basis. You just don't see it until you show interest in it (faith).
