Nothing does -- there's no evidence of any kind that any god exists.
Look at the answers above me -- people going on about how beautiful the sunset is, so there MUST be god!!! How ridiculous and naiive...
Two thousand years ago, people saw comets and thought they were signs from god. Now we know what they are -- icy snowballs from the far regions of our solar system. Mystery solved, no god needed. A thousand years ago, people thought someone who acted strange was possessed by the devil -- now we know about mental disease, and that it's caused by physical and chemical problems. Mystery solved, no god needed.
And so it is for all things that the superstitious attribute to their mythical gods -- the vast majority of these things have already been proven to have natural (not supernatural) origins. The ones whose origins we don't understand yet don't prove god, they just prove we don't know YET. Those who look at the sunrise and see god know nothing of physics, orbital mechanics, atmospheric effects, etc. They look with ignorant eyes, and so what they see comes from ignorance. Very sad, really.

Do you know what it took to even ask the question? You have a physical machine called a body that is able to use its mind to ponder the question, relay visual information from a physical world of comparable low-tech computers through the optic nerve, into the brain, with the mind to comprehend the ramifications, then transfer that thought process to an incredibly complex systems of nerves, tendons, and touch to the fingers to type the letters. This then communicates a question of the soul. The soul is something that science cannot a.) explain and b.) create. It can only mimic with unsatisfactory results. That soul is concerned for the existence of an eternal destiny beyond time and space--that there is a world beyond the physical world we see in the here and now. You are an incredible creation who has been given the free will choice to believe, or not believe. A being that can love, write poetry, paint or play works of incredible complexity and beauty. To smell, and taste, enjoy. So, like you, I set out on a path to find my Creator. It is obvious that He exists, but is He personal or an impersonal force? My answer came through the study of prophecy in the Bible. Like the DNA strand and life itself, it was hard to dispute the evidence. Now with the realization of the truth of the Bible, God made it clear that He was not only a personal God, but One who wanted to know ME, and that He knew everything about me--even the number of every hair on my head.
The existence of God as well as the Bible being the Word of God can be proved through the vehicle of prophecy. To see the evidence of this, we must first establish the fact that God is a spirit who dwells outside of our physical time domain--that is, in eternity. In the Bible, God describes Himself in Isaiah 57:15,
"For thus says the High and Lofty One Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: 'I dwell in the high and holy place, with him who has a contrite and humble spirit.'"
If God dwells in the realm of eternity as the Bible states, then He must be able to declare future events as if they had happened in the past. We who live in the physical restraints of time and space have the disadvantage of seeing the world according to a timeline. But God sees the past and the future as one complete picture.
"Remember the former things of old, for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done, saying, 'My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure,'" Isaiah 46:9-10
So through the vehicle of prophecy, God throws down the gauntlet to all the other "holy books" and all the other "gods" that dare to claim the title. The God of the Bible challenged in Isaiah 41:22-23,
"Let them bring forth and show us what will happen; let them show the former things, what they were, that we may consider them, and know the latter end of them; or declare to us things to come. Show the things that are to come hereafter, that we may know that you are gods; yes, do good or do evil, that we may be dismayed and see it together."
OK, there is the challenge from the God of the Bible. No other book contains prophecy that has been fulfilled with accuracy.

Wow, two arguments from incredulity already.
"How can this be all that exists, there has to be more or a creator!"
To those who say it must have been created or that there has to be more... why?
----------
Kaylee: Very easily -- because that IS all there is.
Heir: No, those things are proof that the universe exists and that I observe it existing. That's a far cry from proving that a deity exists.

how can you watch the sun rise and set, look at the never ending ocean, see the view from the top of a mountain, look out over the grand canyon? how can you look at all these magnificent things and not know that there is something more. how can you just accept that this is all there is?

I don't think - I know God exists.
Go outside, look at the sky, and God's wonderful creation around you. The moon, stars, sun etc.
