My dad called me this morning to talk. we do from time to time.. but this morning he expressed to me that he had been working out at the local gym with my younger sister and her husband.. I have asked him to go to the gym with me in the past and he wouldnt.. and he goes all the time.. I thought it would be great to bond with pops since my parents have been astranged for 25 years. He told me No he doesnt have time or something he blew it off.. well now hes jazzed about going to the gym with my sister and husband and im mad as hell cause I asked first and this pisses me off.. I want to tell him about it. but I dont know how to go about it. can someone help me? And is it wrong to let it come out the way i really feel? cursing if may be or insults...?

You know your dad better than I do. I would be hurt by this too. Still it would not be helpful to react like a child. What is your goal here?
I get that your goal is to let your dad know how you feel but to preserve the relationship. If that is the case you are going to have a man to man talk that reveals your feelings. Honesty and a cool head will get your goal met.
I don't get from what you've said that dad gets he has committed such a faux paus (mistake-oops). Sometimes we just miss the details and have to go back and apologize.

First, you don't tell him off as you said! He didn't approach you that way. Talk to him. Maybe he relates to them in the gym. He is human, and he may enjoy somethings with you, and some things without. You don't have him at everything you and your friends do right?
