I am prior service and reenlisted in the National Guard. The recruiter said it would take 45 days from my first drill before I would recieve my reenlistment bonus. It's been way past that time frame now and I still havn't recieved it yet. Has anyone else out there ran into this problem? What did you do about it? Any help would be appriciated. Thank you in advance.

You need to talk with your UA, Unit administrator, This individual is resposible for handling all the finance paperwork for your unit. Sounds like it hasn't been submitted to finance, or properly sent, and has to be resent. Also, talk with your recruiter, he should still have copies your bonus paperwork. Worse case senerio call finance yourself.

Typical military bureaucracy. I am prior service and joined the National Guard a year ago and still haven't gotten my bonus. You have to be proactive and hound your recruiter and unit admin and see what the problem is. I found out it was because my former MOS didn't qualify me for the bonus but I can still get the bonus if I go to MOS school this year and get qualified for the position I'm in. Your State and circumstances might be different but you have to keep on top of it.

I'm unit admin myself. Believe it or not, a lot of the time it's not the units fault. I'm not sure where you're at, but in my state, it takes a while for some and it's quick for others. Most of the slow down is at state level. We have all kinds of trouble w/ Soldiers not getting their bonuses on time. Just keep talking w/ your unit. I'd say if nothing is done after about 6 months, file an IG complaint. But be sure not to do it on the unit admin. Unless they are the problem. If that doesn't work. Get w/ your Congressman. Best of luck to ya.

Talk to everyone you can about it. Your recruiter, your first sergeant, your commander. Make sure you get heard. The Guard means well but sometimes the people in it have a habit of passing things off to the next person out of laziness. I'm still waiting for my February drill check. Its a mess. You just have to make a lot of noise to get what you need.

I am in the AF reserve and YES, I had that problem. They only give me little chucks once a year. It took about 1 year to get my bonus. It seems when you owe them money they get it and they get it fast. When they owe you money, you hurry up and wait for it. I pretty much just kept bothering the finance office.

The squeaky wheel gets the grease. Continue through your chain of command. If you get to the point you think they are not helping, file an IG complaint.
