Why do people hate mexicans? They are cool cuz i'm one of them!?

I don't know mija but I feel your pain. I am half Mexican and I think that the reason that others have a negative view of Mexicans is because unfortunatley, some of our jente has made not so good decisions. For example - gangs. There are so many Mexican gangs out there. HOWEVER - there are gangs from all cultures and not just Mexican. It's not a Mexican thing- it's a social thing. How about Illegal Immigration? There are plenty of Americans who are against Mexicans crossing the borders with Coyotes to get into this country. Pero they are entitled to their opinion.
Hold your head up high and never deny your raza. Prove to those who think negative of us que we are not all the same.

A lot of American are worried about illegal immigration. And they see Mexicans as being most of the illegal immigrants.

They feel that the illegal immigrants will work for less money - so some Americans lose their jobs. And they feel like some illegal immigrants get help from the state and federal government - which means taxes go up to pay for these services.

Everytime there has been a way of immigration to America - the people already here will feel threaten like this by the new group of arrivals. The Irish during the 1880's is one example. And the Vietnamese in the 1970's is a 2nd example.

This wave of immigration is different in one way that is upsetting to people already here. Previous immigrants learned the English language and went along with the traditional American holidays. They feel the current wave of immigrants are not learning the language - Americans are being told to learn Spanish - and there are questions that we should not celebrate our traditional American holidays - that we should allow new holidays.

And people often do not like - that which they do not know.

I try to take a global view of things. If a spaceship arrived at Earth - what do you think the people in the spaceship would think of earthlings arguing over race (white, black, spanish, Oriental, etc) as a major difference?

I'm half Mex/Amer. I think its mainly because Mexicans (who maintain loyalty to Mexico) refuse to assimilate into the American culture. Mexicans think they will lose their identity (false belief) if they become Americans. You can still be a proud Mexican and be a patriotic American. Then theres the gangs, taggers, thugs, welfare mommas, and illegal aliens. What hurts Mexicans the most though is the lack of education. When you understand all that, I think you will come to terms. If not, then your part of the problem and not the solution.

People are afaid of what they don't understand and cultual differences are one of those things. Its a pity people can't accept other races and try to get to know them better.

Anyone who is racist is not worth give the time of day to and it shows how ignorant they are. There is good and bad in all races. The bad ones ruin it for the good ones and people tend to stereo type a whole people by the way a few act.

People are ignorant and close-minded. I myself am Mexican 100% and I can understand your concern, but people are always going to have an opinion about others-especially negative ones. As long as you are proud of your background and culture that will help you rise above those who are quick to judge. MEXICAN PRIDE.

Here in Cali alot of people hate them because they work for pennies and companies hire them faster then other races that want what they are worth...it's not them personally... I think that other races should hate the companies....
