alright.. my boyfriend of almost a year, it would be year this month, told me Sunday that we needed a "break".. i was devastated and heart broken.. Well now i'm getting all kinds of people telling me that he's seeing someone else.. i ask him about this and he denies it and he promises to get back together with me in two weeks.. i don't know who to believe.. i mean i really do love him and i really do think he loves me too.. but i'm giving him his space so he can deal with whatever he's dealing with i'm just afraid he won't come back but he has before. Do you think he will obey his promise to me and get back together with me in two weeks?

yea probably mostly when a guy says he needs a break he needs a break either from you or just what's happening in his personal life you should just say ok and wait the two weeks

First, are these girl friends of yours that are telling you he's cheating? I wouldn't listen to anyone who hasn't seem him doing something. They're just butting in where they shouldn't. Maybe these people never liked him or had a bad situation with a guy and now they're paranoid. Maybe they're guys that want you to themselves.
When I say I need a break from something or someone, the one thing I can't stand is "why?" "what's wrong?" "just tell me, lets talk". I'm not saying you're doing this, but just for an example. Some people simply need to reset once in a while. You say you love each other so relax and try not to worry.
However, the 2 week thing does sound odd. He may be planning something good for you, he may just have picked a date to get you to stop asking (very likely in my opinion). I'd tell him not to set a time, get back to you when he's ready. That way he won't feel pressured and will get the time he needs.
It sounds like you're talking a lot too. That's probably a bad idea if he says he needs a break. If he wants to talk, let him call you.
If he seems to be leading you on though, or just stops talking to you, don't hesitate to end it. You have to be willing to let the other person be who they want, but if it's making you miserable, tell them. If they don't seem to care, cut them loose.

If he really is taking a break to be with someone else, would you still want to be with him? Don't be too naive about it. If he has a legitamate reason for wanting to take a break (family, stress from work or school) then give him his space. I just don't think there's really a reason to 'take a break' from a year long relationship other than someone else came into the picture. I would get to the bottom of this whole sudden change of heart. You don't want to end up waiting for someone that is doing you wrong.
Good luck hun.

I am going to say this to you: there are plenty of fish in the sea. He apparently was out fishing while in a relationship with you-- therefore he has violated your trust in fact took your trust for granted. the first year for most couples is the feel it through phase -- and if you ar under 25 -- he definitely was not the one for you. he was just a learning tool to show you what guys do so time to grow a thicker skin shake it off and keep on moving. his lost. and remember when he comes back for that booty call -- unless you want or need the sex turn a deaf ear to his needs, don't harp on what he did -- because he will know that he has won -- you have to appear unaffected, get out and find other contacts, move slow, learn fast -- protect your heart and get yours until you feel the next possibility has come along.

2 weeks? He has an exact point? Yeah, he's hiding something. You don't just say I need a break for THIS amount of time and then get back together. Maybe if he just said I need a little while, and then at some random point things work out; but no, that's too suspicious.

Sounds like you're getting played. He is probably doing his thing with some super freaks, while you're waiting desperately in the background for your love to return. :) Maybe he will come back in 2 weeks after he gets through banging those other chicks. Have a nice day ;)

O.K., what kind of bf leaves and comes back and leaves and comes back? Is this really what you want? I know you say you are in love but it sounds like he is running your relationship by cheating and returning to you who will take him back. Be careful with this it doesn't sound so hot!

a "break" means he's sleeping with someone else...and deciding if she is better than you. Plus, if he can continue to lead you on, he'll eventually be able to 'poke' both of you. Drop the loser...tell him you met someone else (someone with alot more stamina)...that's the only way to play that game. MOVE ON!!!

its time to let him go, he is putting a time line on the "break". he is probably sleeping with someone else and feels its ok because your not together right now. let it go
