Ask the hospital if they use, or can get the cold cap system. It is proved to reduce hair loss.

If the chemo you are on has the hair loss side effect there isn't really any good treatment that will stop it. Cold caps can't be used by everyone because of the drugs and issues that go with your treatment.
If you are a female keep your hair short nothing is worse then waking up in the middle of the night thinking you are being attacked by hairly spiders only to find out it is your hair.
If you don't like the bald look which isn't really attractive get a wig now.
What ever you do "don't stand on your head"

While the idiot that said you have your priorities wrong, please ignore that as clearly it's coming from someone who has no clue nor has ever been through this. I can't tell from your name if you are male or female but regardless, it's a difficult adjustment, esp. for women. If male, I think it's sexy on men who sport the shaved or bald look. Did you see Jack Nicholson on the Oscars? He's doing a movie about a person with cancer so he was bald. He looked cool, but Jack usually does!
If female, do what is comfortable for you. And as my oncologist told me, if there was a magic pill out there to prevent hair loss, all of his patients would be on it, so obviously, he wasn't aware of such a thing. This is all a journey that you are going through & one of the valleys can be the hair loss & adjusting to your appearance. Just hang tough though as it could always be worse. I contacted the Amer. cancer Soc. in my area & they had a ton of hats, wigs & scarfs to choose from, a place to try them on privately & all were for free & could use as many as I wanted. This was very helpful as I waited until the last moment until I woke up one morning with a mess of matted hair on my 10th day into chemo. Finding a wig wasn't as scary as I thought either so if I can do it, you can too!! God bless & take care!

not really. There are experimental drugs out there, and different therapies, but they only work in about 25% of those who tried them while on chemo. Suggest you talk to your oncologist about what is currently available and whether or not it is worth trying. Just to be safe, go out and purchase a nice wig and some hats.
Some chemo centers even offer free wigs and hats, check with yours.

chemotherapy is very powerful medicine and most people do lose their hair which is very traumatic. I do have some suggestions that might help prevent the lost. increasing circulation to the scalp is important if you can do headstands to or three times a day this will supply more blood to the scalp. Take your fingertips and massage the scalp daily.
A high quality multivitamin is very beneficial. An extra 1,000mg of vitamin C. Use 1,200mg of vitamin E Daily. Use olive oil for salads and cooking. Alfalfa powder should be consumed three times daily. Drink fresh carrot juice daily.
Try to eat as much fresh vegetables and fruits as possible As well as good quality proteins.
there's no guarantees but it's worth trying.
if you have any further questions please let me know.

Do yourself a huge favour; shave your head and buy a really silly wig or a fun hat. Chemo/cancer are already stressful enough that you really shouldn't be worrying about your hair!
Focus on getting better. In the scheme of things it doesn't matter one iota what your hair (or lack of it) looks like.
(Of course that's easy for me to say, I was already severely follicley-challenged before the cancer!)
Best wishes...

i think wigs is the only practical solution for yourself
just stay confident, and people will think you're rocking a bald head on purpose, and you'll still stay attractive, like you're doing something "cool"
keep your head up, and dont worry so much about hair, stay positive, you're gonna need it at this time in your life (you dont need the added stress)
hair is so miniscule in terms of life, plus it'll grow back later.
i'd rock a bald head with some cool hats.

Don't you think you are putting enough into your system as it is????
I'd be eating and drinking as much natural stuff as I could to beat the cancer, not putting more crap into my system!!!
You priority's are in the wrong place!!! You should be thinking about getting well and doing everything you can to beat this, why would you be concerned about your looks??? Won't matter what you look like if you're dead!
