Hair gel comes in many different consistencies,so it depends on what you are trying to achieve with style.Slick back.Cowlicks,
uniform curls,Spike it up,messy look,see what mean? I love Vavoom by Matrix.Gel is used for wave form too. What are you
doing.Controlling your hair.You need manageability.Maybe mousse, would work better. Start with fresh clean hair.
Try using both,you can layer your products on.Just always use a small amount each time,it's like building hair to where you want it. wet it & start over,if you want or need to.Experiment.

The best brand of hair gel depends on your hair texture thick course hair is good with clear ice and fine hair goes well with IC

My husband uses Redken for Men Grip Tight Firm Hold Gel.
It smells great, adds style and doesn't flake or feel tacky. He really likes it & I think its the best gel he's ever used.

You should try a product called Molding Wax from FX Special Effects. You can get it at any Walgreens, CVS, Wal-Mart, etc. You'll love it!
