Out of the dogs you have listed, I have only had experience with dobermanns, rottweilers and german shepherds, also with english bull dogs.
I work at a rescue, and all of these dogs are very loving, affectionate, in fact when we homed a rottie, he had become so attached to me that i ahd to get in the mans car to encourage the dog to get in too, i had to get out the other side and leave him in there. It broke my heart.
German shepherds are wonderful, and very affectionate once they get to know you and it is exactly the same with dobermanns. You do get the odd one that can be a bit temperamental, but you get temperamental terriers.

I love all dogs, and these are some of the best dogs I have ever met. I recently adopted a 1 year old female pit bull and she is the best dog in the world. I have been waiting 21 years for a dog, and she is perfect. In a well adjusted home with the right training and socialization all of these dogs make great pets. Any breed can be aggressive. It has to do with how they are raised. I was attacked by a golden retriever who nearly took the right side of my face off. I know most goldens are sweet dogs, but if raised in a bad home, they can also become aggressive. This dog was neglected by it's owners. They knew this dog was aggressive but refused to seek help. This is the same with any breed. I tust my pit bull over any other dog. All she wants to do is love and give kisses!

well, there is nothing wrong with any of those breeds if they are raised by a loving family. There are not bad dogs just bad owners.
BAD Back yard breeders that should have never bred!! Back yard breeders also do a lot to give breeds bad names. They breed dogs that have bad temperament and then those traits are passed on to the puppies. Good breeders test for aggression when breeding aggressive breeds and if one of the breeders shows signs of this then they are fixed and placed in a home!!
That is what My grandfather would do when our family was breeding Grand Champion Rotts. Pits can also be great dogs. One breed you did not mention is the Akita they can also be very aggressive but I own one and it is as sweet as can be.
There is a such thing as dogs that are for the experienced owner. Pits, Rotts, Akita's, Dobys are just a few of the breeds that are for experienced dog owners. If an uniformed person gets one of these breeds and dose not know what they are doing then you run the risk of a bad dog because of the fault of a person!! All bad dogs (well 95%) are because of people who did not know what they where doing. Or who should not have been breeding!
If you get those breeds from GOOD, Experienced Breeders with certifications, and health cert, hip cert and everything else they are all good dogs!

Hmmm well personally, I think those are all great and fearfull dogs, ( espescially Dobermans and german sheperds)
You dont see many rotties, or pitts anymore becuase of the bad reps they get.
Also, i think Dobes and sheperds are alot better than those other breeds personally*. I litterally grew up with dobes, and i have always had one, and they are very good dogs. There are alot of myths about them having small brains, but their the number one most intellegent dog breed, go to the AKC.org, and they have it all on their site. also there its quoted tha dobermanas are "Elegant in appearance, of proud carriage, reflecting great nobility and temperament. Energetic, watchful, determined, alert, fearless, loyal and obedient."
and the Sheperds are qutoed "The breed has a distinct personality marked by direct and fearless, but not hostile, expression, self-confidence and a certain aloofness that does not lend itself to immediate and indiscriminate friendships"
Also, whats great about thees dogs is, Do you see any pitts, rotties, or any other dog breed as a police dog? or a millitary dog?
No. thats becuase these 2 are the best and most fearfull and quick.
Especially dobes, it was what they were bred for, by a tax collector, louis Dobermann who wanted protection.
Thats just my opinion, also, Dobes rule.

If you asked me before I got a dog I'd have said pitbulls rottweilers and dobermans were breeds I was fearful of. Not so much german shepards. My neighboors had a sweet one growing up as a kid. i think it's obvious the rep pitbulls and rottweilers have. I also think I remember people telling me doberman's have small brains. Since learning about dogs I now think it depends on the humans who own and raise them and judge by that!

I think all of those breeds are great dogs, if owned by great owners. I live in a very pet friendly area and our dog park is full of pitts, rots, and german shepherds. I don't usually see dobermans, but I did have one as a child. Dogs are what you make of them and I love them all.

German Sheperds are loyal, loving, protective dogs. The other ones, I really don't know cause I don't own those kinds of breeds, however I do know that Pit Bulls deserve a more better reputation than people give them

Personally I'm afraid of these powerful breeds... However, I have friends you have 2 and 3 of each on your list and they say they are wonderful ... I think these dogs must have quality training just because they are so powerful and hard to handle... A well trained dog no matter what the size or breed is an definite asset to the owner

They are smart, strong dogs who often fall into the wrong hands, thereby earning them a bad reputation.
Otherwise, good dogs. I have had a Dobi and a Pit Bull-great freinds, good with kids, but they do require training to keep them out of trouble. So do most dogs, btw.

All are those breeds are great dogs they just need proper socialization and training. Research should be done before buying any dog because not every breed is suited for all people for the reason that not all people are capable owners willing to put in the work these particular dogs need.
