Yes VW does have a recall on there brake switches being faulty
you can cheack it out @ www.automotive.com
it`ll show you just how may recalls there are on your car and the jetta has a few!

Check with a local VW service department in your area. They could tell you better than anyone else. It should be covered at no cost if it's a manufacturer's recall.

I got a card from VW for a brake switch and window switch. The dealer fixed it for free.

I'm not sure, but there should be a recall on all VW's, they are the worst car in the world, hands down.
