rogain is really popular, but you have to keep using it or the hair will start falling out again... i would suggest going to a dermatologist, they can give you ideas for a more permanant solution... i had a case of allopecia(by the way, im female!!) i one day woke up with a spot the size of a half dollor of bald on my head... went to the dermo. they gave me a steriod cream and hair vitamins ,also said ot was probably related to stress OR the chemicals i work with at my job. also i was on a diet and lost alot or weight. it was hard for them to pinpoint exactly where the problem started from, but i worked on all of it, and within 3months i had grown almost an inch or new hair growth.
this probably isnt interesting you, but there is a point to my story
a dermotoligst can advise you as to what the best method for you to use, and yes, hairloss is common after 40, but because the treatments can be so expensive, your best bet is advice first from a professional, then your $ will be well spent. not everything works for everybody.. you may want to go with something more permanent... ask the doc!!!
and by the way, women dont mind if a man has hairloss, actually, i think its kinda sexy!!!

I've only tried one, and my husband buys the men's version. It's Rogaine (menoxadil?) - it's helped us both. Our doctor told us that while he already had lost 70% of his hair before he tried it, but it's helped him keep the rest.

It can take 6 months or more to show results, so my husband almost gave up, but it finally helped. He's in his late 40's.

The 3 pack is cheaper per bottle, and often the grocery and drug stores have coupons etc...

I don't know about those other things advertised on the radio.
