I know a kid that sells it and I want to warn him of the consequences.

Depending upon how old he actually is, if he should be caught/arrested for selling, he might be tried as an adult in some states. If he were just using, he would not be in such serious trouble as he will be for dealing. If he is quite young, the law may go after whoever is supplying him since, obviously, he is not likely high in the hierarchy. However, he will most probably acquire some sort of criminal record which may follow him all of his life, not to mention that he might serve time if he is a juvenile of sufficient age to be charged with a crime.
