I'm 55 and retired. I work with a Kiwanis Club in the USA (state of Virginia). Kiwanis focuses on youth issues.

Our top priority is raising money for scholarships. Cost of college here is $9,000/year plus living expenses (food, housing, etc). The Club only raises enough money to help 3 students each year.

There are over 2,500 students at the high school.

So I do research to find other sources of funds or scholarships and then tell the students about them.

You might want to go to www.ysa.org and sign up for their email based newsletter - it tells what youth based civic groups are doing. And it tells of corporations willing to donate money and goods to those efforts.
