Hi,

I think the idea your loosing belly fat by crunching is perceptual; you said you were fine, except you had some belly fat that appeared to dissipate when you did crunches.
What's happening is your simply loosing uniform amounts of body fat from your body by excersize and yet, you notice your belly gets trimmer; your are tightning your abdominal walls and this effect appears to reduce fat by actually making your waist size smaller; this is due to your abdominal wall shrinking and not the fat at that location.. Fat burns off All Over at the same time, if you have a concentration of fat in one area your going to notice that first as the other fats burned off is hardly noticible as it small in size.

Kep doing the crunches;however, it will not pin-point fat there to burn it off. Try swimming or jogging and proper diet and it will be history soon enough as the tummy will vanish with any other fatty tissue.

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.

The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.

Get started today!

Too bad you are already rejecting the only answer to your question in your question. Do you modify your crunches? Knees bent, Tilt left, Tilt Right? Try crunching with your knees bent, feet in the air, legs parallel to the floor. As you lift your torso move your knees in as if trying to touch your nose. Trust me they work. I lost over 170lbs through slight diet modification and lots of exercises including crunches. This 45 yo broad has great abs. You may email me if you would like more help...N

Try Pilates. It works wonders. It may be hard at first, but stick to it and you will see a difference. It even works your thighs, back, etc. I love Pilates.
