Turn off the ignition with key inserted. expose CPU by removing protective plastic covers. There will be a round sticker on one side of the ECU. Remove the sticker and you will see a flat head screwdriver slot. Turn it 1/4 turn clockwise. Now turn the key, dont start the car, just light up the check engine lite on the dash. Now go on the internet and find the codes for your frontier, the check engine lite will now be blinkinge a code that will tell you what the problem is.

why ? if its under 36000 miles is covered under warranty .. and if its over 36000 miles that it may be covered under power train warranty
