"Culo" means ***hole when you´re talking about the hole itself, but when you want to say that someone is an ***hole it´s "culero".

If you want to insult somebody, you can't use the literal translation, it wouldn't make sense. There are lots of insults you could use...
You could say "imbécil". That's not such a bad word, since it doesn't refer to body parts or anything, it means stupid, but it's a strong insult and I think it's an equivalent one.
There are other more rude ones, depending on the country: pendejo, cabrón, etc.
I hope the people you are saying this deserve it... :-)
