Through family I have come to find out about this group called "The Church of Christ" they don't believe in musical instruments in church because they say the new test doesn't mention them, the females are not permitted to cut their hair, they must also wear skirts at all times AND they believe they and THEY alone are the true church. They believe they have gone back to the bible (un-like everyone else) and have become just like the first Church. They also believe in ONE cup communion (like Jesus...they say), if you use more than one cup you are worshipping wrong. ALL spiritual gift, healing, tounges, etc (1st Cor 13) have all ended due to a mis-quoted verse...1st Cor 13:8...that which is in part etc.
anyone hear of this group??

I go to the Church of Christ, and what you are describing is (in my opinion) a sad representation of our beliefs. In our church, women are definitely allowed to cut their hair and wear jeans, pants, or whatever. We take communion weekly, but we don't use one cup. Women in my church read scripture, say prayers, and help pass communion during services, and we definitely don't believe we are "the one true church," but striving to be like Jesus and New Testament worship is our goal.
Unfortunately, there are Churches of Christ who are like your description, but please don't lump us all with that lot!

I am a member of the church of Christ, but not the group to which you refer.
Because the Church od Christ has no headquarters on Earth, each congregation goes directly to the Bible for their doctrine. The congregation you mentioned has some things right and some things they are binding where the Bible has not bound.
For example, it is great that they want to return to the Bible for their authority. The Bible teaches that we should do all "in the name of the Lord" (Col 3:17). The phrase "in the name of" means according to the authority of or instructions of the Lord.
To follow the instructions or authority of the Lord, one must handle the scriptures correctly, or as the KJV renders 2 Tim. 2:15, "rightly dividing the word of truth".
The church you have mentioned, has not correctly handled the scriptures when they say you can use only one cup. They see that Jesus took "the cup", and they conclude that since it says cup and not cups, then you can only use one. They fail to notice that in the same context that Jesus said "drink this cup" (1 Cor. 11:26-27). By the cup, Jesus was specifying the contents, and not the container. They have not rightly divided the Word of truth.
It is fine if they want to use only to use one cup, but if you correctly look at the accounts of the Lord's supper, the scriptures do not bind the number of cups as a doctrine that must be followed.
Some of the things you mentioned, I agree with, but the group you have found is not the average for Churches of Christ.
We should follow the Bible. It is wrong to add to God's word, to allow what the Wrod does not allow, but it is just as wrong to bind doctrine that the Bible does not bind.
The congregation you have found has drifted to one of these extremes. They need to re-study some of the things they teach.

It potential the church could have not any effect on government coverage. except you desire to stay in Iran, you're able to evaluate it an outstanding component. additionally the 1st modification for sure states that "Congress shall make no regulation respecting a company of religion, or prohibiting the loose workout thereof.". it won't be able to be mentioned as a precise word, yet that would not advise it fairly is not there.

My husband's family is Church of Christ. It is very similar to what you discribed except that the women are allowed to cut their hair and they don't have to wear skirts. The believe they are the only ones going to heaven. Sounds kind of judgemental to me.
God bless,

Yup. I went to a "non-denominational" Bible college that ended up being Church of Christ. I feel bad for them. They want the truth, but...They're just so religious!
