We had a diaper genie and thought it was the best thing in the world... then the honeymoor period ended! Our daughter is about 14 months old and we're going to be shopping this week for another garbage can so we can just toss the diapers outside.
Honestly, the diaper genie was my idea and I feel like we wasted money buying it.

My sister-in-law said that the Neat is better just because it is financially cheaper and works just as well as the Diaper Genie. Problem is, I can't find it so I ended up registering for the Diaper Genie. I can find the refills, just not the actual dispenser.

I've tried both. They are good when the baby is little, but once the kid starts eating whole foods the point of them is obsolete. I noticed that the bags don't really keep the smell from escaping. You can save money by just tying up the diaper in a grocery bag before throwing in the trash. For #2's use two grocery bags. You don't spend any extra money, and it is also a way to use up all those bags under the sink!

Neither. They both require refills that get expensive. Throwing them in the trash only works if you have garbage service more than once a week. Otherwise, diapers in the trash get smelly. The Diaper Champ by Baby Trend is awesome. Does not require refills. Takes regular kitchen bags. It is ~$30.

If you want a system, get the Genie. But I think they all kind of suck.
We use these little blue bags sold at BabiesRUs with a bit of deodorant. I don't mind the pee ones and when we get a dirty one, I just tie off the bad and put it by our back door and they go to the dumpster once a day.
If you have a poopy diaper, you'll want it out of the house ASAP, not just in a fancy trashcan.

I had the diaper genie with my first. It controlled odor well for the first few months--and then he started solids! For the second we just take them out the front door to our big garbage can. The money is better invested elsewhere.

Neither. After awhile they will end up in the trashcan
Just throw the diapers in the trash and take it out at night. Those things are a waste on money.

NEITHER!!! They are all a waste of money! Just buy the cheap gallon sized ziploc bags. Put the diaper in the bag, squeze the air out, seal it and toss it! The smell will not leak out the bag and there is no need to take the trash out till it is full.

No, yet i will permit you be responsive to the diaper genie II is a hoop. The bag interior the hoop is a non-stop bag. No initiating, no end. You pull the 1st bag, tie the top and while it rather is done, you decrease it and tie up that end.
