I'm a college student, and recently 2 days ago I met this girl who is in my journalism class and our instructor gave us an assigment to write about a classmate. So since she was next to me, we decided to interview each other for our stories. Basically it was like our life stories. So while we were doing that, we just talked to each other about what we like to do in our free time and etc.

But then she asked me if I have a g/f, and I said no, so I asked her if she had a b/f and she said no. Then today I saw her, and our instructor wanted the whole class to move into the computer room. After that she told me to sit next to her, and asked me about myspace and etc. But when we were conversating, I was kinda shy and quiet, plus she noticed it too.

Basically I need advice that can improve my chances of having her as a g/f, how to keep her interested in a conversation, and how i can ask her out on a date. Any suggestions?

Obviously she has noticed you... noticing her. This is crucial because she knows that you exist. (Sometimes in college that is difficult.) As a college girl I would say it is important to keep giving her attention.. sitting next to her and chatting. Its okay to be shy, but make sure that she doesn't mistake that for not being interested! Ask for her number!!

You've got your foot in the door, which is the hardest part of getting a date. What you need to do is get and stay confident. Girls want to be with a guy who has great self-esteem and confidence. Sure, being "shy" is cute for a few moments; but rarely will a girl pick the shy guy over the confident one.
The next time you see her, initiate the conversation and keep it going. Use what you know about her to drive the conversation forward and then try to find some similarities between the two of you. You might find something that you two enjoy doing and you can use it as a date idea (rock show, movies, etc...).
One last suggestion; take your time with this stuff, don't rush it or you will look desperate. Don't worry about her being your girlfriend right now, worry about taking her out on your first date first.

Very simple...take it out of the classroom and a good way for u being a college student is by inviting her to Starbucks or something and telling her that after talking in class for the assignment your teacher gave u, u would like to know more. I am shy also but this is an EASY way to break the ice OUTSIDE of the classroom setting......GOOD LUCK, Bro!!!

sounds corny, but just be yourself. It's better that she gets to know the real you sooner rather than later. Then she'll either like you and want to be your g/f or not. Treat her with respect, be nice and do fun stuff together. Get to know her and enjoy your time together.

Good luck
