there is a multitude of reasons.
For one in the US we have a very poor education system that does not prepare our children for the job market.
Number 2 the job oppurtunities really suck as far as compensation versus cost of living.
Number 3 we watch our congressmen and women commit crimes and think we can o the same.
Number 4 The cost of living is getting out of control. Added to the fact that so many people have no clue how to budget and save. Also so many feel that we have to have everything and will do what it takes to get it.
Number 5 we live in a society that places a higher value on money and status then on human life.
Number 6 Our own government has made prison a big money maker for the states that they put people in jail for stupid stuff. While stating they have no room to put child molestors away in jail cause it is overcrowded by people who didn't pay child support.
Number 7 The world is going to hell
There are so many more reasons to give. But the simple truth is that we live in a society with screwed up values and bills we can't afford and jobs that want everything but refuse to pay anything. After a while you can fall into that trap and go rob a bank to make it or get fed up with the driver who cut you off and shoot him.
(This question kind of made me think of the movie "fun with dick & jane) It wasn't hard to see the reality in it.

George Bush.

George Bush is also the answer to the following questions:
--why did smallpox ravage Native Americans in the 1600's?
--why did the Black Plague spread through Europe so quickly?
--who built the pyramids?
--who gave Eve the apple?
--who took the last Little Debbie from the pantry?
--who drank all the milk, but left the empty carton in the fridge?
