Hello, my mom and I are planning a trip to NY in May are trying to figure out where we can stay for about $150 a night. We can take the trains and everything, it's just that we have no idea where to start looking? Any suggestions?

Maybe a good suggestion is to use this tool to filter hotels in New York by price, star rating and location. Then look into the deals that sit behind the pricing.

Another tip is to look at the official NY tourism site

Both links are below.

Hope it helps

Good luck. You may want to stay in Newark, it's much cheaper, and you can take the PATH from there into the city for really cheap, and it's only about a 20 minute ride. But you are only going to find a couple of hotels in Manhattan for less than 200 a night, unless you're willing to stay in a hostel.
