I have tried doing it myself before, but never found it very easy- I wouldn't be able to do it to anywhere near the standard that I needed

You can usually buy henna at wal-mart or claires, and most tattoo parlors will apply it for you for a fee! Just call and see.

Do you know any south asian people (Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, etc)? They go to thier own south asian beauty salons, and usually you can get it done there or the salon workers know people who do it. Also, sometimes aisan ppl do henna as a hobby and they may do it for free for you (esp, if u invite them to your wedding!) Also I think arabs do henna as well, so if you know any arabs, you could ask them. You cant really use the internet or stores for finding places, especially if you live in a small town, because the people who do henna dont usually have the money to advertise. Word of mouth is the key! Anyway, good luck!

Typically it is done by the female members of the family on the bride but if you dont have any one that talented to do it free hand the kits have stencils that you place on your hand and then add the henna on top. Really any artisitc friends should be able to do it fairly well I use to do it to my own hands all the time.

Also you may want to goole tips, squeezing lemon juice over the henna while its drying can keep it moist so you get the most vibrant color. And dont forget your feet! that is customary as well.

You may also want to search for "Mehndi" artists as that is the traditional for teh ceremoney
