Ok, I have just gone through an ugly divorce and my kids still hate me. Well to top it off I am pregnant now with the man the kids hate( he really is a great guy, but they wont give him a chance)This was unplanned BELIEVE me! lol My kids live with their dad (he is better off financially, the kids dont see it but he is "buying" them and has turned into super dad to turn them against me) OK, anyway, how do I tell them that I am pregnant? Other than "I am an adult and I can do what I want to!" lol I guess I could just come out and say it, but I am hoping for some other advice.

It all depends on their age. If they are older you'll have to rationally talk it out with them. If they are younger you can tell them through one of the many great picture books that they have made to get a little one used to the idea of having a little brother or sister.

I'm sorry you are going though such a bitter divorce. I've seen this so many times being a teacher when the kiddos turn against their parent because of one of the parents influence.

I would gently tell your kiddos that you have good news. Let them know it wasn't on purpose, but also tell them it is a wanted baby and that you'd appreciate their love and support for the baby. Invite them to join you in the celebration, have them come with you to go shopping for some baby stuff (ask for their opinions.) Have them help you select a baby name, do anything that gets them involved in this baby as much as possible. The more they are involved, the more they will accept him/her as their sibling.

You need to set them down and talk with them. No screaming matches. Who is the Mother here? They need to respect you and stop walking all over you. They will see when they get older that money runs out but love never does. You didn't do anything to them except give birth. By the way, Congrats on your new baby!! Hope that everything works out!!

I don't see being pregnant as something that needs much explaining or telling, considering the fragility of the situation, just let them figure it out on their own.
Not saying you should hide it, or if they should ask, but I really don't see the sense in volunteering the info.

Best of luck.

Wow. I guess you'll just have to sit them down and tell them. Try not to have the nervous laughter that you seem to have with all the "lol."

Regardless of the reason your ex became "superdad" its still nice for the kids that he is, don't you think?

Good luck.

You need to use this as tool to win back some of their love and affection. It's all about the presentation. Tell them that you need their help and would love for them to spend more time with you.

How old are the kids?
You can simply tell them tell mommy is going to have a new baby. This should satisfy them for now..

Btw- like your avatar...lol

Nice.

Leave one guy and get knocked up by another.

I hope that the kids learn a lesson from this.

Just tell them the truth and let them form their own opinions.
