In my daughters' room they 2 butterflys connected by a wire on their wall (sounds werid but cute, saw the idea at Pottery Barn Kids, but made it myself!) and has clothespins or clips to hang the art work they have made! Pretty easy to make too!

HA! I know how you feel! I started scrap-booking the artwork. I bought very inexpensive books and labeled them by years. I put every piece of artwork in it for that year then, I went back and weeded some of them out. Now when I look back at them (my daughter is 14 and still an artist) its neat to see how far she has come!
To display them, purchase inexpensive clear plastic frames to either hang on the fridge or wall. That way, when it's time to put it away and display a new one, it's quick and easy. It will also help against damage to the art! Good luck!

Maybe you should get a rubbermaid tub, to keep the art in.. but.. to keep your fridge cleaner, tell your 4 year old that he/she can pick One Item each week to hang on the fridge. This will be a super special item that they bring home, and make sure to only use ONE. You could also put up a bulletin board in his/her room, and allow your child to put up a few at a time, and switch them out every so often.

Take digital pictures of his art and put them in an album. Then have him pick a couple of favorite pieces to keep and recycle the rest. He can have a photo album of all his art, and you don't have to have a house full of papers.

You could have one or two large plastic frames to put the best pieces in and rotate them weekly.
I also bought a large paper portfolio that I keep my son's work in that I want to keep but can't display.

Why not buy some inexpensive frames and hang them throughout your house...When I was house-hunting I saw this done in a home and I thought it was a perfect Idea... You'd be surprised how beautiful their artwork looks framed...

get an album or scrapbook and have him title each piece of work. Frame the really great ones and decorate his room as sort of a gallery of his works!
