you will go to BMT (basic military training) for 6 1/2 weeks (supposivley its being increased to 8 1/2) and thats at Lackland AFB in San Antonio. After you graduate youll be sent to another base, or you might stay at Lackland where youll begin your Tech school and thats training for your job. and the length of your job training depends on what kind of job you get it could be from 6 weeks to a year, it all depends. then youll be sent to a reserve unit for six years and youll be able to go to school and whatnot. Any questions just go see a recruiter not everything they tell you is bs. But think about going Active Duty...

You will be on active duty for six months, including boot camp at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. After boot camp, (about six weeks), you will be sent ,(hopefully), to a tech school of your choice at another base, which could include some advanced training. After that, you will make reserve meetings once a month for about six years, with two weeks summer camp every year.
At least, that's the way it used to be! Lots of luck!

Basic Military Training lasts six weeks. Then you go to Technical Training which varies depending on what type of position you are being trained to fill. Then you have a commitment to serve in a reserve unit for at least six years.
